Piedmont Pepper Festival Oct. 18

The Piedmont Pepper Festival will be held at Lorax Lane in Pittsboro from 4-7 p.m. on October 18th

Piedmont Biofarm grows over 100 varieties of peppers and we’ll be learning, tasting, grading and discussing peppers.  We’ll also be eating pepper dishes from the following restaurants:

  • 3 Cups (pairing wines with peppers!),
  • 18 Seaboard’s Sweet Pepper Surprize!,
  • Angelina’s Kitchen (roasted peppers),
  • tastings of Benjamin Wines,
  • chipotle cheeses from Celebrity Dairy,
  • Red Pepper Ravioli from Chatham Marketplace,
  • Crook’s Corner’s famous pepper jellies,
  • Chef Todd’s roasted sweet pepper fritters from Eastern Carolina Organics,
  • roasted shishito peppers from Edible Earthscapes,
  • chile rellenos from Elaine’s on Franklin,
  • April’s toasted brioche with wild Coho lox,
  • local chevre’ & Farmer’s Daughter 12 pepper jam,
  • Silk Hope Wines,
  • General Store Cafe’s organic chili chicken crisps, and
  • Zely & Ritz’s stuffed mini bells with Chef John Wasson’s sweet pepper crepes and Bobby’s Water Ice with jalapenos!
  • Zulayka will have the Liberacion Juice Station there for her creations.

Kids are free and have big chess to play and face painting, while we listen to the hot, spicy sounds of Howie Dewitt (our fantastic local blues/funk band!)
