Get a taste of Marco Shaw’s cooking

The folks at Zely and Ritz are opening another restaurant in Durham later this year.

Marco Shaw who will be the chef at the new Eno Restaurant and Market will be working at Zely and Ritz next week giving a preview of things to come at the Eno when it opens.

Shaw is coming to the Triangle fromthe Fife Restaurant in Portland, Oregon where he was praised for his casual, ingredient-driven menu which he changed daily based on ingredients available within 100 miles, and for his support of Oregon’s sustainable agriculture.

Gourmet Magazine named Fife one of “America’s Best Farm-to-Table Restaurants” in 2008, and offered, “Chef-owner Marco Shaw’s farm-to-table credentials are outstanding, even for Portland… for eleven months of the year all of the produce, meat, and fish on the menu comes from sustainable or organic regional farms.” Every year since opening in December 2002, The Oregonian featured Fife Restaurant as one of Portland’s “best restaurants.”

The food at Eno Restaruant and Market will be completely farm focused with most ingredients coming directly from Coon Rock Farm or other local farms.

Chef Marco will be filling in for Chef Sarig at Zely & Ritz on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday while Chef Sarig takes a much deserved vacation.  The main Zely & Ritz menu will be the same, but for those of you who have been waiting for a “taste of the Eno”, here’s your chance.
