Food Movies Coming to Carrboro

News and Observer blogger Andrea Weigl in Mouthful notes that several movies we’ve mentioned in the Summer of Food Movies and some never before heard of will be shown as part of a Carrboro Greenspace Film Series.

Weigl notes the films will be shown on the bamboo-fenced lot in front of Weaver Street Market in Carrboro.

At 8 p.m. Sunday, the movie “Sludge Diet” will air followed by a discussion led by Sue Dayton and Nancy Holt of the Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League about sludge in North Carolina.

At 8 p.m. Sept. 13, the movie “Homegrown” will be shown followed by speaker Tom Phillpott, a food writer for Grist.org.

The film to air at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 is yet to be announced. We’ll share more information as it becomes available. The films could be “Food Fight,” “Fresh,” or “Food, Inc.

Weigl provides a link to the Carrboro Greenspace website which seems to dated and has no information about any of those movies at this time. Hopefully, it will be updated.

UPDATE: Looks like Carrboro Greenspace updated its website with their latest movies. Thanks!
